From pushing for collective bargaining rights for city public workers (DPW) to championing countywide rent stabilization, Martin has consistently fought for fair policies that uplift the community. Beyond policy, he remains a hands-on leader—hosting free expungement clinics, COVID mobile clinics, opioid awareness pop-ups, and food and hygiene giveaways to ensure residents have access to essential resources.
Martin is committed to a community-focused approach rooted in action, accountability, and service. He believes in open and honest dialogue, respect, and integrity, even when tackling tough issues. His goal is simple: to bring people together and build a stronger future for District 1 and all of Prince George’s County.
MEET MARTIN
Martin has spent his life fighting for a county where everyone can work, live, and thrive. A proud native of Prince George’s County and Laurel City resident, Martin is raising his twin sons in the same community that shaped him. A graduate of Laurel High School and Bowie State University with a degree in Political Science, Martin has always been deeply connected to service and advocacy.
His passion for giving back started early, from coaching local youth wrestling teams to mentoring students at his alma mater. Martin earned plenty of accolades in high school and college wrestling, including earning All-American honors. His dedication to public service led him to work at every level of government, where he gained firsthand experience in shaping policies that impact everyday lives. Currently a political and public affairs consultant, Martin was elected At-Large to the Laurel City Council in 2021, where he has led efforts to protect renters, expand workers’ rights, and support working families.
